A single runway allows the hoist to be positioned along a defined path. Beam profile, supports, trolley wheel arrangement and end approaches is determined from project dimensions.
Cage/platform dimensions, actual load, centre of gravity, access direction, required levels, travel distance and operating scenario are required for correct engineering. Human-carrying classification is never assumed from imagery.
The hook should receive the load in a controlled manner, while sling suitability, rotation or swing risk and the platform connection point must be reviewed against the handling scenario. The visible connection does not replace engineering verification.
Mechanical fixings, trolley travel, lifting/lowering, limit functions, brake, controls, cable routing, obstacle clearances and the safe operating area are checked as one system.
