Why is centre of gravity critical for large loads?
The geometric centre and actual centre of gravity may differ. Incorrect lifting-point placement can cause tilting, rotation or uneven force distribution between sling legs as the load leaves the ground.
How do sling angles influence the lift?
As sling legs move away from vertical, tension in each leg can increase. Sling type, working angle, lifting points and accessory WLL values are selected from the lifting plan and project data.
What is required for controlled positioning?
The objective is not merely to raise the load, but to move it to the target with controlled swing. Lifting speed, bridge/trolley travel, operator visibility, tag lines where appropriate and exclusion zones should be planned together.
How is this footage used in project assessment?
The video records a real lifting operation and helps illustrate load movement, rigging geometry and the working area. Load values, test steps and acceptance criteria are defined separately within the project and commissioning documentation.
What data are required for a similar job?
Provide component weight, overall dimensions, centre-of-gravity information, lifting lugs, travel path, lift height, site photographs and operating frequency to select the appropriate crane and rigging arrangement.
